Welcome to the Registrar’s Office
The Registrar’s Office provides an important link between academic policies of DeKalb Tech and our academic departments and students. Our Office is responsible for issuing transcripts and enrollment verifications; evaluating transcripts; conducting registration; awarding and posting degrees; and reviewing petitions for in-state residency. It is also the responsibility of the Registrar’s Office to maintain accurate and secure records of all students.
For the protection of student’s rights to privacy, the Registrar’s Office ensures the College’s compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). For more information about students’ privacy rights, please click here. FERPA

FALL QUARTER, 2010 REGISTRATION

If you register between Monday, August 9, 2010 and Thursday, September 16, 2010 your tuition and fees are due Thursday, September 16, 2010 by 7 pm. Any balances, no matter the amount, will result in your registration being purged at 7 pm on Thursday, September 16, 2010.
If you register Tuesday, September 28, 2010, Saturday, October 2, 2010, Monday, October 4, 2010 or Tuesday, October 5, 2010, your tuition and fees are due Tuesday, October 5, 2010 by 7 pm. Any balances, no matter the amount, will result in your registration being purged at 7 pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 and you will not be allowed to continue in classes or re-register for the Fall Quarter 2010.

If you choose to late register your tuition and fees including a $30.00 late registration fee are due by Tuesday, October 5, 2010 by 7 pm.

The Registrar's Office charges a processing fee of $5.00 for each official transcript requested in writing by a student. See the Transcript Requests page for more information. Unofficial transcripts are available on the Web. For instructions on obtaining an unofficial transcript, go to View & Print Grades.

National Student Clearinghouse
Enrollment Verifications for current quarter enrollment will be available on or after the following dates:
Summer Quarter, 2010 – July 28, 2010
Fall Quarter, 2010 – October 20, 2010
Winter Quarter, 2011 – January 26, 2011
Spring Quarter, 2011 – April 27, 2011
If an Enrollment Verification is needed prior to the above deadlines, you may complete an Enrollment Verification Form and submit your request as an attachment via email to the appropriate email address on the bottom of the Form.

A degree, diploma, or certificate student who is registered for at least 12.0 quarter credit hours is considered to be a full-time student. Enrolling for fewer hours for a particular quarter may affect eligibility for financial aid or veterans’ benefits and enrollment certification. CEU credit hours are not included in the student load calculation.
12.0 or more credit hours = full-time enrollment status
11.0 to 6.0 credit hours = half-time enrollment status
Less than 6.0 credit hours = less than half-time enrollment status

A student desiring to "Audit" must secure the proper Request to Audit Form from the Registrar's Office (Room A-172, Clarkston Campus or A-105 Covington-Newton Campus) prior to the mid-point of any quarter. The Request to Audit Form must be completed and returned to the Registrar's Office by the mid-point of any quarter. An Audit Symbol is given with the permission of the Instructor and the Registrar. It is not permissible to change from Audit to Credit. See the Right Start guide for the current quarter for the Request to Audit deadline.
A student requesting a re-evaluation of a previous institution(s) course(s) for possible transfer credits may complete and submit a Transcript Re-Evaluation Form below. Ssave a copy of completed form for your records, then attach the form and additional documents as needed and send them to the appropriate email address at the bottom of the form.
If you prefer you may make your request in person at the Registrar’s Office (Room A-011, Clarkston Campus and A-105, Covington Campus).
