Special Population Services at DeKalb Technical College, affectionately known as “Spec Pops,” celebrates and acknowledges the many accomplishments of its students. The Special Population Services Department of the College serves the international, disabled, single and non-custodial parent students. Under the leadership of Director Lisa Peters, the department has seen major advancements among its student population.
“We are especially proud of our 150% increase in international students,” shares Director Peters. “We celebrated International Awareness Day during International Education Week where the many countries represented at DeKalb Tech were showcased.”
International student Gloria Kalala, President and Dean’s List honoree, was awarded a scholarship from the Rotary Club of Stone Mountain.
