The new Morgan Center of DeKalb Technical College will open its doors to the public on Monday, December 14th from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The open house is in celebration of the consolidation of many of the schools programs and services. The center is located on the second floor of the old Creamery Building at 150 E. Washington Street in Madison.
DeKalb Technical College is bringing together many of its facilities under one roof. Renovations have been made to the second floor to accommodate several classrooms which will house GED and continuing education classes among other things. Monday’s event will allow the public to see the facilities as well as meet the staff. If you are considering starting your own business, your first stop should be a class on how to get started. Have you always wanted to learn about scrapbooking, wedding coordination, speaking Spanish or caring for your parents? All of these classes can be taken at the Morgan Center of DeKalb Tech.
From gardening and CPR training to brushing up on computer skills and operating a forklift, your one-stop-shopping education destination is DeKalb Tech’s locations in Newton and Morgan counties. Many people find personal fulfillment and pride by returning to the classroom to get their GED. Franco Fabian found just what he needed to make his career dreams come true. “A GED is going to help me because I didn’t graduate. I know I made a mistake there in not getting my high school diploma, so this is like a second chance for me in trying to achieve what I want and trying to reach my goals and my dreams,” Fabian says.
Whatever your dream may be, the pathway begins at DeKalb Tech. Find out more by calling 404-297-9522 ext. 5000 or our Morgan County Campus GED 706-343-5916. Or you can log on to our website at www.dekalbtech.edu.
