Customized Training

DeKalb Tech offers customized training programs to area businesses who are seeking to increase the skill levels of their employees. The results include increased efficiency, less waste and down time, and increased morale.

Order of Operation

The goal of the office of Economic Development is to be the community's first choice for workforce training needs. Training specialists make on-site assessments of the company's training needs. A customized training proposal is developed that addresses the company's training needs, timelines, and resources.

DeKalb Technical College provides customized technical training to business and industry in a number of areas:

• Consultation and Assessments
  In order to determine the scope and content of training services, a training needs assessment is conducted.
  This assessment helps determine performance concerns, organizational values and issues, and identifies areas where training may increase performance and productivity. Assessments may be conducted for maintenance and industrial training, customer service, organizational leadership, or team development.
  If a company is upgrading equipment, software, or operating technologies, they may take advantage of Georgia Retraining Tax Credit assistance. This helps to offset the cost of retraining due to technology changes.

• Spanish Programs
  DeKalb Tech offers language programs on many levels. A business can enroll with Economic Development to train its employees in specific phrases relevant to their workplace. Through continuing education programs, students can take Spanish courses which include basic Spanish, intermediate Spanish, conversational Spanish, and more.
