OverviewDeKalb Tech’s Medical Assisting Program is a five-quarter diploma that develops the knowledge and skills needed to perform both administrative and clinical procedures in the medical care environment. After completing the required course work, the student interns as a medical assistant. Graduates will receive a diploma in Medical Assisting and will be eligible to take the Certified Medical Assisting Exam. |

AccreditationThe Medical Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), upon recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB). Entrance RequirementsStudents must be a high school graduate, or have a GED and must be 17 years of age. Students must complete all required courses before entering the program. Entrance into the Medical Assisting program is based on competitive admission criteria. Students must attend the May mandatory selection meeting to be selected for the incoming July class. |
